It was a beautiful spring day at one of our lakeside parks and I was loving life. I watched quietly for a few minutes before my curiosity got the best of me and I approached...
I had many questions and some doubt. Nine years later I have many answers and even more faith. I’m stoked to share my experience with all of you.
So, why ISUP?
Durability. I love my boards but it I don’t pamper them. They have been dragged across rocky shores, through forested river banks and over and under log jams. In my white water paddling I’ve had them pinned against rock walls, river boulders and bridge piers. Woven drop stitch, polymer fusion and bomber heat fused rails means they don’t puncture, twist or break. SQUID boards rarely even show wear from our many adventures.
Storage. Like a lot of us I don’t have much “extra” space at home for my gear. ISUPs offer a wonderful solution. My 11'6" Swell packs away with pump, hose, and leash into its own bag. That means it is compact enough to store in a closet or trunk of a small car.
Safety. Although plenty strong and rigid for me and three days of camping supplies, ISUPs still offer some give and softness. Rounded edges, comfy Bloom foam deck padding and soft Yulex handles make these boards ideal for children and pets. An occasional slip and fall results in laughs, not bruises.
Travel. Whether it’s taking 2 boards to the lake for a family weekend, Mexico for surfing or across the Caribbean on the deck of a sailboat, these boards love to travel. Equipped with a tow handle, solid wheels and well under the weight limit for airlines, SQUID board bags make excellent luggage. Throw in sandals, swimsuit and a towel and you’re set. Even bottles of tequila now have a safe spot to ride home.
ISUPs offer many unique solutions to make owning and loving one easy and affordable. With steadily improving technology and ecological advancements these boards get better each year. But don’t take my word for it, get a beautiful and sustainable SQUID inflatable paddle board and find out for yourself!
