I’ve pre-ordered a product, what comes next?
- Boards - All paddle board models will be delivered in June, 2024. We will be providing you with updates throughout that period.
- Shoreline Eco Series (Travel Bag, Skeleton, QR Paddle Belt) and Submersible Series (Hip Pack and Board Bag) will be delivered in June, 2024. We will be providing you with updates throughout that period.
- Waterline Paddles (2 pc, 3 pc and Fixed) will be delivered in June, 2024. We will be providing you with updates throughout that period.
Why do I have to pre-order my board?
- That’s a great question. We’re working to change the way people buy performance water gear. We think pre-ordering is a win for customers and a win for Squid. By pre-ordering through the Small Batch program, we are able to save you $100’s off of a premium board compared with similar quality boards from our competitors. We avoid the typical cycle most manufacturers face - full price products in high season, followed by deep discounts at the end of the season as we try to unload extra inventory in preparation for the following season. Lastly, pre-ordering means we don’t have to rely on outside investors to shoulder this risk. That way Squid can continue to remain paddler-owned and innovative; we can push the boundaries of sustainable design; we can give 1% For the Planet; and we can continue supporting Fair Trade factories.

What if I pre-order a product and I change my mind? Can I get my money refunded?
- Absolutely. If you change your mind for whatever reason you’ll get 100% of your money refunded, no questions asked.
Will you have pre-order products for sale on your website when the products arrive in June, 2024?
- We expect to have a small amount of product for sale after June, but we aren’t able to say how much of each item. Whatever we have will show up as “in stock” on our website. Alternatively, select Squid products (except boards) will be available through Authorized Squid Retailers in the US and Canada. We are continually working to grow this network, so check back to our website to find out new retail locations as they come on board.
Am I taking a risk pre-ordering products from a new company?
- It’s true that Squid is a new company, but we don’t feel there is more risk ordering from us than any other company selling newly launched products. The Squid Team has designed and manufactured literally dozens of products for some of the biggest names in Outdoor Adventure. In addition to that experience, our biggest assets are our factory partners with whom we have established relationships, and who we’ve handpicked because they are the best in the world at what they do. We have refund policies in place that protect you if you change your mind before your product arrives, or doesn’t meet your expectations when it does arrive. And should any problems arise from manufacturing defects, we have limited warranties on everything we sell. Feel free to contact us if there is anything we can do to answer questions or put your mind at ease.
I live in the USA, will I have to pay tax on my order?
- At this time there is no tax charged on orders shipped to the USA.
Do you ship outside of Canada and continental USA?
- Unfortunately we do not ship outside of this region at this time.
I live in the USA. Are there duties on items shipped from Canada?
- Great question. At this time Squid is taking care of all duties on our products that cross the border into the United States.
I see Squid is a member of 1% for the Planet, but I don’t see who your non-profit partner is. Who does Squid donate 1% to?
Great question. We are currently talking to a handful of potential partners that are working to protect wild salmon stocks here on the Pacific Coast in BC - there are some amazing organizations doing great work out here! As soon as we’ve made it official we’ll be making that information public, probably January or February.
Do you accept returns?
- We will accept returns for all items, except paddles, as long as the item is still new, in the original packaging and for the original purchaser only. We will inspect the item for condition upon receipt and issue the refund. The purchaser is responsible for shipping cost to Squid Paddle Co Inc in Whistler, BC, Canada.
Will retailers be carrying Squid paddle boards?
- Squid paddle boards are only available directly from our website on a pre-order basis. Any additional stock of boards will be listed as “in stock” on our site when our shipment arrives in the spring.
When will Squid products be available for sale at retailers?
- Our retail partners will receive their product around the same time as our online customers in June, 2024. Feel free to contact any of our retailers as they are added to our website and speak with them about product arrival.
